“I want to be an Apple Tree.”
This was my answer when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up.
A family joke for the most of my life, it was somewhere in my thirties that I realized I really did want to be an apple tree.
See, I remember thinking apple trees had it figured out: they make apples. Apples make people happy. People can have all the apples they want. The trees make more apples. The cycle repeats. It made so much sense.
Was my childhood ambition prophetic?
It dawned on me: the poems I write, the songs I sing, the experiences I curate, the people I love, the healing I make space for... the spaghetti and lasagnas, the yoga and the prayers… the eulogies, the retreats, the workshops…
Oh man, the workshops!
Are these not “my apples”?! For sure, they have to be!
I welcome you to Apple Tree Magic, home to it all.
Shop the books. Come to the yoga. Send a letter to a friend.
This is a place for you to be fruitful.
Take it in and be a part of what it seems we are all looking for right now: meaningful community, spiritual nourishment, hopeful perspective and - perhaps - a little bit of good old fashioned truth.
I’m glad you’re here. :)
